Individualized Open Studio Classes

At the Art Hub Academy we explore individual creativity with the use of traditional and contemporary mediums because when creativity and technique are used together, they lead to beautiful expressions of art. Classes are for all ages with children’s classes held just after schools close and early in the weekend mornings. Courses are not subject or mediums based. Our focuses are techniques, formal elements of art and the exploration of individual creativity.

Wine with Abstraction
What could go better with wine than abstraction?

Celebrate creativity in a light hearted and friendly get together. Bring your friends or meet new ones while we explore several artistic methods for making abstract art. Introduction to Abstraction and Style
3 hrs| Aprx. $70 Person | All Levels | Small to medium groups
Create wonderful original art, by learnning how to loosen up through abstract from reality or your own imagination in this informative and fun workshop. Sal Corral is a professional painter but has also taught sculpture and drawing. Supplies are provided, but if you are used to using a specific art medium feel free to bring your own materials.
The advanced class follows the beginning class. It focuses on production and analyis of work. Why not take both for a full day of artful fun? (10 percent discount when taking both workshops) Whether you are an experienced artist or just want to figure out abstraction you will find this workshop empowering.

Figural Abstraction
4-5 hrs| Aprx. $100 Person | Med to Adv Levels | Small to medium groups
Learn how to create abstractions first through still images and followed by working with a live model. You will discover a few approaches to creating abstract figurative forms. After an early break students will focus on the approach that fits them personally and work on finishing at least one work based on their choice. Supplies are provided.

All in Watercolor
4-5 hrs| Aprx. $100 Person | All Levels | Small to medium groups
Watercolor should be fun and freeing for the spirit. The main objective of this class is to teach an approach to painting that embraces the natural looseness of watercolor. I will teach how to refine it only after we learn how to let it breathe freely on its own. Learn how to energize objects, people and places while creating focus where you want it most. Through demonstration and individual attention each student will learn what techniques work best for them. Supplies are provided.
